It's been about 25-years since Peter learned to fly small aeroplanes, in between raising his family and running his Auto Spare Parts Business. Peter has had some wonderful experiences with Aviation and seen many parts of the world that most people don't get to see.

As a result of his flying out of Camden, Wedderburn, Bankstown and other southern Sydney strips he made many new friends. Luckily (as ever) his mates came to include Jim Hazelton, one of the most experienced long-distance ferry pilots in the world, Don McBean another very experienced flyer who is good at helping keep them alive and Keith Bushnell an apparently fearless cameraman who is presently learning how to construct his mate’s new web site. Peter admits if it wasn't for these close friends it would have been a hell of a lot harder for him.

Peter, Jim, Don (and me) along with Geoff Hazelton took off from Bankstown NSW, last year and flew in a Beechcraft King Air right around the world. So as it wouldn’t look too easy, they crossed the South Pacific via Easter Island. From South America they turned north to the US and attended the EAA air show at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. East via Canada, Iceland and various stops in Europe saw them drop in at Crete and Egypt before coming home via Sri Lanka and Ayers Rock! Can you believe it?  

What else do they put in Biographies or Obituaries? Oh yes, Peter has three sons (who want him to change his business name to Moore and Moore and Moore) and has a grand house at Razorback, south of Sydney.

Peter Moore directed his Auto Recycling businesses from Campbelltown, New South Wales, from 1980. Before that, he became a qualified panel beater but discovered that there was more money in breaking them down for parts rather than putting them together.

Only last year he completed the move from his two yards on Blaxland Road and opened a new factory to concentrate on after-market, truck parts not so far away at Smeaton Grange. In the early days and while on the executive of APRAA (Auto Parts Recycler’s Association of Australia) Peter undertook to inform himself and others regarding the then, ‘wrecking business’. Always keen to be better educated, he produced several videos which looked at yards and equipment around the world.
